One of our goals at PinballControllers.com is to make available products that allow you to run custom software on your pinball machines. The P-ROC allows you to do exactly that and is now available for purchase.
Please read the following before purchasing a P-ROC:
While the P-ROC contains the hardware connections and low level logic to control the components of a pinball machine (ie: switches, coils, lamps, motor, dmd, etc), it works in conjunction with software running on a computer connected via USB. Software running on the computer needs to send data to the P-ROC to describe the desired actions (like when and for how long to turn on a lamp).
At this time PinballControllers.com does NOT provide any software. Rather, we provide all of the documentation necessary for skilled software developers to write their own software. We have also provided links on the P-ROC Software Page to open-source software projects based on the P-ROC. We have provided these links as a courtesy to individuals developing P-ROC software. However, PinballControllers.com makes no representations regarding open source software projects based on the P-ROC and provides no warranty with respect to any software.
Before purchasing a P-ROC, please make sure you either intend to write your own software from scratch or are comfortable installing and using software from the one of the projects listed on the P-ROC Software Page (or other projects that are not listed). At this time, we cannot offer refunds to customers wishing to return a P-ROC due to software availability or software support concerns.
WPC Pre-fliptronics machine support:
In order to fully support WPC-95 machines that use the extra 8-driver board (ie. No Good Gofers), a small design trade-off was made which affects compatibility with WPC pre-fliptronics machines. Due to this trade-off, the P-ROC is unable to report flipper button switch events to the host from WPC pre-fliptronics machines without a hardware modification. Note, this does not affect flipper operation since the flippers are controlled by the buttons directly, rather than from a logic circuit or CPU.
If you want to purchase a P-ROC and want the board to report flipper button switch events from WPC pre-fliptronics machines, please select WPC-pre-fliptronics from the P-ROC purchase selection so that your board can be modified prior to shipment. This modification will make the P-ROC incompatible with No Good Gofers, but it will not affect compatibility with any other WPC machine.
